Kitchen FAQs

  • Hardwood is incredibly strong and resistant to wear and tear, making it ideal for high-traffic areas like kitchen cupboards, doors and drawers. Unlike MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) and melamine-face Chipboard, which can chip, swell and degrade over time, hardwood is an investment that will last for generations with proper care.

The natural beauty of hardwood is unparalleled, each piece has a distinct grain, patterns and colours that add warmth and character to your home. There is a reason it has been used in cabinet making for centuries. It is truly timeless and will age gracefully.

  • Yes, all our timber is sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified suppliers ensuring it is sustainably sourced.

Most of our timber is locally grown and milled just 10 minutes from our Sussex workshop.

  • All our kitchen cupboards are made in our state-of-the-art workshop in the Sussex countryside.

While we don’t have a showroom, you’re very welcome to come and visit us and see what we have in production, just let us know.

  • Our solid timber frames are made from your choice of walnut, oak, ash or tulipwood, all locally grown and sustainably sourced. Unlike many bespoke kitchen companies who opt for hardwood doors paired with cheaper plywood carcasses, we construct the entire carcass using unique interlocking solid timber frames. This innovative design allows us to make your entire kitchen from solid wood, using the highest quality materials without wastage or inflated prices.

It’s the perfect durable base for your kitchen cupboards. You can then customise the doors and drawers to suit your style. Whether in-frame, overlay or fully framed.

  • The most popular choices for our solid wood kitchen cabinets include oak, walnut, ash, and tulipwood. We can also use premium grade birch ply if you prefer or can source different materials if you had something else in mind.

The best wood for your new kitchen depends on your preferred aesthetic, budget, and required durability.

  • With our simple fixed pricing, budgeting for a bespoke kitchen is easy. We offer flat price depending on the size of your kitchen and the wood you choose. You’re then free to customise the design however you wish without increasing costs.

    For a solid wood kitchen:

    Small kitchens start from £16,000.

    Medium kitchens start from £24,000.

    Large kitchens start from £30,000.

  • The lead time for a bespoke solid wood kitchen varies depending on how busy our workshop is. Typically, we aim to deliver your new kitchen in 4-6 weeks.

Installation may vary depending on our team’s availability.

  • Due to our unique fixed pricing structure, our kitchen designs are fully customisable without worrying about increasing costs.

This means you can choose between Scandinavian, modern or Shaker kitchen styles. You can pick colours and finishes, add in drawers or clever storage solutions, and it won’t affect the cost.

  • Yes, Solid wood kitchens are easy to maintain with regular cleaning using a damp cloth and mild detergent. To protect the finish, avoid harsh chemicals and excessive moisture. Periodic oiling or refinishing can keep your wooden cabinets looking their best.
