Our Story

Cub Kitchens was founded by Steve and Alice in their back garden workshop in Brighton. A passion for carpentry and design soon lead to creating kitchens and bespoke joinery for homes all around the city. As word spread and demand grew, so did we, building a team of skilled joiners and moving into a state-of-the-art carpentry studio in the Sussex countryside.

Our vision was simple: how do we make beautifully crafted, sustainable kitchens more accessible? The answer - keep it straightforward. We use honest materials, fair pricing, and expert craftsmanship. Our cabinetry is designed to be made entirely from locally grown solid wood. The unique solid timber frame minimises waste, delivering exceptional quality without the premium price tag.

As Cub evolved, we expanded into eco foundations (Load Bear) and full housebuilding (BearHaus). These businesses follow the same fabric first ethos - prioritising sustainability, quality, and transparency from the ground up. Whether it’s a kitchen, a home, or the foundation beneath it, our commitment to thoughtful design and responsible building stays the same.
